A Day in the City

took the train into the city to meet good friends and attend a lecture by Tony Sweet at BHPhoto.Arrived a little early and did a bit of walking and photographing with nothing but my cheap little Hogla lens.

It was very frustrating using only this lens but it was a learning experience that left me with a lot of losers but a few photos that weren't to bad.

360 x 180 Planet Panoramas

I always liked those planet panoramas that people are making and had a idea I wanted to work on .So I put aside 6 photos that I wanted to add after I made the panorama . downloaded the " Hugin " software and started working on my little project.

after a couple of hours I got so frustrated with all the failure of just making the planet that I gave up for the day not knowing when I'll get back to finishing the photo in my head. If I ever figure out how to make the planet the rest should be easy.

This was as far as I got before hitting the wall.

Update:  While it didn't come out the way I had hoped , I learned a lot from this and look forward to shooting more of these.

Human Trafficking

It is estimated that human trafficking brings in business that totals more then 32 billion dollars a year and effects millions of people.

from a post on Facebook I came across a site from Brook Shaden where she is helping set up , "  The photographic training center " in Kolkata , India that will benefit survivors of human trafficking. they are asking for donations of any type , cameras , equipment and laptops( new or used ) to help them with this charity.

Should you have any equipment sitting around collecting dust that you would like to donate here is a link below for more information.
