Overlook Mountain Hotel

for the first time in years and years I'm back to a 40 hour week . resting the last two , today I was ready to get back hiking and photographing , deciding that this summer will be spent re-introducing myself to the Catskills.

heading south to one of my favorite little towns on the whole planet , Woodstock NY , to hike the steep road to the abandoned , burned out hotel , " Overlook Mountain " . in the pouring rain , soaked and wore out by the time I reached the top , it was only a matter of minutes that the excitement took over once I set eyes on this place.

by the end of the summer , hopefully the photos uploaded will give people a pretty good idea of what the Catskills are like , with overlook getting at least one more weekend visit.

Out for a walk , driving and hiking , this is when I think best.next time I will have to remember to bring boots so I can climb out into the water and get a good photo of this beautiful place.

Sometimes I can be a total dum Sh*#

after each quarter on the calendar I go over all my accounts to check for any problems to make sure there will be no surprises later on down the road. usually it's clear sailing and if there are any problems they are cleared up without much effort.

then again there are times that I turn the simplest situation into a total mess . having found a small accounting mishap due to a timing issue , I tried to rectify the problem without understanding exactly how it happen in the first place. it only took a couple of e-mails to show what a total dum sh*# I can be.

my apologies to the two people that I talked with , I'm sure both of them would be happy to kick my ass right off the planet forever. and I wouldn't , couldn't blame them if they did .

while I didn't exactly come up with the easiest of fixes , I did come up with something that hopefully will settle the issue . now that I made myself out to be such a dipstick all I can be thankful for is that it wasn't my taxes I screwed up !

if there is one positive to this situation it looks like I get to plan another trip to New York ! back on the tracks again.
