No Spring, nor Summer beauty hath such grace,
As I have seen in on Autumnal face.
John Donne
And the Autumn clutches the forests green
In a hasty and eager clasp;
But the leaves are true to the Summer they love,
And they wither and fade in his grasp

I had decided that this summer would be spent stepping outside of my comfort zone and photograph subjects that were completely foreign to me. Music festivals and dance.
Having spent the last week of August at the legendary modern dance company , " Jacob's Pillow " In Becket , Ma. Dancer/choreographer Ted Shawn brought the Carter family farm back in 1931.And the rest as they say , is history.

The workshop was taught by former dancer , award winning photographer and author Rose Eichenbaum.Her vast experience and knowledge was just what I needed as a ducky in unfamiliar territory. It was a pleasure and honor to spend the week under her guidance .

An amazing group of artist and photographers. Talented , helpful and kind , as was everyone at Jacob's Pillow . It was an experience that I will carry with me where ever my whacky little trail continues.Thank you all , along with all my classmates that were such a help to me.
Special thanks to Rita Foley , who without her inspiration and encouragement this special week would of never happened.

we have arrived at a time that a 3rd of our nation will be of retirement age. a generation that for the most part is wealthier , healthier and have plenty of time to chase the dreams of their youth. it would not surprise me to see a great leap forward in the arts and sciences over the next 30-40 years. at least that is what I hope happens.
us baby boomers have a real chance to really improve the quality of life for future generations and America as a whole. it would be a real shame if that opportunity is wasted.
There is a famous saying by James Carville . " It's the economy stupid" when in reality , it's the children. Lord knows we have all made our share of mistakes but today we have been been given a chance to change all that and more.
we will see.
