Play Day.

Love taking a photo and then play with filters and blends to see what happens. sort of like improvising over a chord progression. ya just never know where you are going to find yourself.

The people we meet along the way.

I was drawn to the lines of this tree and while I was focusing this lady walked into the frame .I really liked the idea.She was very nice and posed in the photo for me . after a quick edit I e-mailed a full size copy for her own use. This made her very happy .

a little bit of kindness can go a long way's .

All is not Lost .

After a nightmare weekend I headed up to the Adirondacks Monday and at least came away with this photo. not that it is such a good photo but it taught me a little something and will file away that bit of wisdom for the future.

Where's Holli?

Having fun in Brooklyn . Holli had to leave a little early  , she was missed .I even forgot to give her a clown nose but I have lots more .

it was great fun with Holli , Jeanna , Lee and Rita even without the noses  ,  one of many fun happy moments .

Bannerman's Overnight , thanks for nothing !!!

Back in March I signed up for a overnight Photo trip to Bannerman's castle that stated it was rain or shine. As early as Wednesday I got a notification that the trip maybe changed to Sunday. Thursday I received a notice that parking arrangements may change for the trip.

Yesterday and today I sent out e-mails asking for confirmation on Sunday and parking .When I didn't hear anything by 6 PM tonight I finally wrote one of the associates of Bannerman Castle trust and at 7:30 PM I got a message that the trip was canceled , stating what they will do for me. That's just great.

The over night fee was 350.00 dollars and the cost of taking Fri-Sat and Sunday off from work was another 1700 dollars .

No one that was suppose to be handling this event even had the common decency to e-mail me and let me know. I'm in shock of how unprofessionally this whole matter was handled and never again will I attend Bannerman's Castle. They should be ashamed of themselves for the disgraceful manner they handled this situation.

I should sic Elizabeth Warren on them !

It's been a busy week of blogging .

now with the basic plan already laid out it's time to start working on my summer Adirondack project but first I need a rest.

Jeanna Petersen Shepard : Generous of heart , multi-talented , high energy , wisecracking mother of 4. with a wide ranging interest in photography. weddings, documentary , landscape and fine art. always with another question about technic , style and effects in aim to make herself a great photographer. I have no doubt that someday she will become just that.

Jeanna takes a lot of ribbing on her keen sense of fashion. I have to admit some of which is just hilarious .with strengh and inner confidence she can dish it out as well as she takes it. often at her own expense. truth be known if she decided to make a fashion statement using burlap bags within a week half the women in New York would be raiding potato farms in Idaho to copy her style.

she has been a dear friend and supportive from day 1 . something i'll never forget.

as with everyone here , they are an inspiration and a joy to spend time with. I'm lucky to know such wonderful people .

so there you have it. as Holli would say , " What a crew! "
