LightRoom 2
Lightroom has been on my computer going on 3 years now , yet I never really spent much time looking at it. having decided that it was finally time to look under the hood and see what makes this baby tick. so after spending the last few weeks test driving lightroom I found that while it isn't going to replace Photoshop for the work I do , it definitely will play a major roll in how I organize my work.

Impressionism
Growing up I dreamed of one day having the greatest job in the world . playing centerfield for the New York Yankees and maybe in the off season being the next great point guard for the Knicks. hey , what can I say? I dream BIG! my other great passion was art. when I didn’t have a basketball in my hands there was pencils and paintbrushes to keep me busy.
inspired by the Impressionist , Van Gogh , Pissarro , Signac , Degas , Renoir and the one artist that really pushes my buttons Claude Monet . I have always felt that these are the true geniuses in all of art history. Monet once said , “ I am pursuing the impossible , I want to paint the air.” and he did. to understand how to create depth by blinding stereopsis and allowing shading and perspective to control their vision showed how truly ahead of the times these artist were.
the only other artist that I feel compares to their accomplishments would be the cave painters from France and Spain , such beautiful work , which just from a technical standpoint alone was amazing.
but some how in the choas of my life I lost track of my passions and just within the last few years I've found the way back. having lost the touch for pencils and brushes , it is with photography that I chosen to express myself and try and accomplish what the great impressionist have by using a camera. motion , multiple exposures , overlays , pans all with in and out of exposures and anything else that comes to mind to try and achieve what I see with my head and my heart.
while that centerfielding thingy may not of worked out as I had once hoped the search for the keys to unlock the secrets of my dreams continues. which reminds me of something Monet also said :
My life has been nothing but a failure.
I truly hope , whether it was this side or the other that Monet finally realized just how important to the world he truly is.

A happy Surprise
A few months ago I added a gadget to this blog called , “ Popular Post “ . a few changes were made this week that was received with very positive results.
One was I decided to change the gadget set up to the most popular over the last 30 days instead of the ‘ all time most ‘ . The changes to the list are now more frequent and seem to draw a lot more attention.
Second I left a link on Facebook to a post from last year and just typed , “ A look back “ . It was surprising from the e-mails and messages how much people liked the idea. So with this encouragement , every Sunday I will leave a link on Facebook to an earlier post from my , Lost in the Adirondacks site.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and support .
